COVER HOMAGE: KEVIN MAGUIRE - CON'T
Ah the internet. You never know what you're going to find. Let's hope no one goes through my history, 'kay? Anyway...
Pictured above is another cover homage to Kevin Maguire's original Justice League #1 cover that I wrote about way back in October 2008. This one comes courtesy of Tom Raney and marks the beginning of Warren Ellis' run on the Image series Stormwatch that would eventually morph into the ground-breaking Authority run. The issue is #37 cover dated July'96.
Weatherman, who is the farthest downstage in the group shot, doesn't have his arms crossed like Guy Gardner does in the original 1987 cover, but there's no denying the overall positioning of the ensemble and the way they just stare... right... at... you. Ha.
So, it's a little less than an exact homage and a whole lot more than just a nod. So I'm including it in the mix.
